Thomas Cook’s different brands into single website
in Articles, Featured, Resources by marcel van der laan
Travel agent Thomas Cook is putting four of its brands’ individual travel websites offline, as it is planning a complete redesign of ThomasCook.com which will be representing all of the Thomas Cook brands. The new Thomas Cook website will feature all different services and brands, and will operate like a retailer, offering everything what is available on the market. All the former websites of Manos, Panorama, Escapades and Aspro will thus be closed before the end of this week, after which customers will be automatically forwarded to Thomascook.com. Although their websites will cease to exist, the brands will continue to operate. The four brands, Manos, Panorama, Escapades and Aspro, all became part of the Thomas Cook portfolio after the merger of Thomas Cook with MyTravel last year. Reason for merging the different websites is the transfer of another former MyTravel brand, Airtours, onto the Thomas Cook site earlier this year. This move has previously led to increased conversion rations, and thus is Thomas Cook hoping to achieve the same with these brands.
The complete redesign, developed with Accenture, is focusing on better customer retention by increased personalized content, better search possibilities and the availability of a wide range of Thomas Cook products and services. Additional brands that will also be included on the website are bookings with Eurostar and Hotels4U, which were also bought by Thomas Cook earlier this year. A rebuilt version of the website is expected to go live next month.
