Expedia and Marriott renew their partnership
in Press releases by marcel van der laan
Expedia and Marriott International today released a press statement announcing a new multi-year agreement that extends one of the longest running partnerships in the online travel industry.
Without being aware of any details, this arrangement provides Marriott properties access to Expedia’s extensive targeted promotional and merchandising opportunities to reach travelers throughout Europe, Asia and North America. Marriott’s properties also benefit from direct access to Expedia’s global travel marketplace through ExpediaConnect, the technology solution for chain hotels to connect directly into Expedia’s global marketplace.
“The success of our relationship with Marriott is a perfect example of Expedia’s commitment to the business of our partners, both in the short and long term,” said Melissa Maher, vice president of hotel strategic accounts at Expedia. “This new agreement with Marriott builds on our long history of flexible, collaborative agreements that meet the unique needs of each of our supply partners.”
“Renewing this strategic relationship with Expedia gives us valuable exposure and distribution in the leisure market across the globe, by virtue of Expedia’s size and global brand presence,” said Larraine Voll Morris, vice president electronic Distribution at Marriott. “We are pleased to continue this beneficial relationship.”
Marriott properties are consistently among the highest rated in the world by Expedia customers. In 2008 alone, 90 Marriott-branded properties were recognized on the Expedia Insiders’ Select list, a ranking of the world’s best hotels.
